Welcome to Angel's Precious Moments!

My favorite!
#109584 "Happiness Divine"
The thrift mall had a huge assortment– as do most places that sell antiques– so we had a lot of fun looking through the figures for our favorites. I ended up taking home a few clowns; #520659 “Wishing You A Happy Bear Hug”, #503610 "10 Years of Wonderful Wishes", and #100688, a pair of clown thimbles which I split with my friend. I also jumped online to search for more clowns and found one that I knew I needed to have! A clown with angel wings, #109584 "Happiness Divine", which I was able to find and snag for myself!

*Strange spousal dispute figure
#9252 "Forgiving Is Forgetting"
As I researched more, I came to appreciate the quaint personallity behind each figure. Though I wouldn't consider myself religious, I still appreciate the overall focus on love and positivity that you can find in many of the figures... even if they can seem a little misguided (and *weirdly dark) at times. Please note that I buy all my figures second-hand, haha.
While a lot of Precious Moments are common and cheap, there are a few limited editions that are actually quite rare! One day I'd love to have all my favorite clowns, but some of them are elusive. One figure I'm looking for, #101544, “Love Is On It’s Way”, (Yes, the typo apostrophe is in the actual name) includes a special paper with something called "A Clown's Prayer". This didn't originate with Precious Moments, but it was the first time I had read it. Again, the religous aspect doesn't resonate with me exactly, but the sentiment is something I carry all the time!

A Clown's Prayer
Lord as I stumble through this life,
Help me to create more laughter than tears,
Dispense more happiness than gloom,
Spread more cheer than despair,
Never let me grow so big that
I will fail to see the wonder in the eyes of a child
Or the twinkle in the eyes of the aged.
Never let me forget that I am a CLOWN...
That my work is to cheer people up,
Make them happy, and make them laugh,
Make them forget, at least for a moment,
All the unpleasant things in their lives.
And Lord,
In my final moment,
May I hear You whisper:
"When you made MY PEOPLE smile,
You made ME smile."
